The Kraft Journal 140 - Sketch Challenge - Boo!!

Good Monday Morning to you!

(For The Ribbon Reel Happy Fall card click here)

For today's sketch challenge at The Kraft Journal, I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock which I layered some orange and black patterned paper and a piece of Black and Kraft polka dot paper from the Kraft and Black Cardstock Pad found at The Kraft Outlet.

I added a vintage focal image onto a die-cut shape cut from Half Size Blackboard Paper and added to the upper portion of the card front.

Next I took a length of  Natural Burlap Ribbon and added it to the Black and Kraft polka dot paper. Lastly, I  added a Flag Banner Sticker to a Chipboard Flag Piece and stamped Boo!! from Paper Sweeties Alpha Upper in black ink.

Here is the Sketch for this week's challenge. I would love for you to give it a try and link up at The Kraft Journal.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your sketch pattern creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

DeNami Design Product Spotlight Blog Hop - Pretty Paisley Set

Hi there!

So how has your September been treating you?  It seems hard to believe we are approaching the end of the month already.  That also means it's time for the DeNami Design Product Spotlight Blog Hop!   The DeNami Design Team is having a mini blog hop showcasing the new Pretty Paisley Stamp Set.  This set could be YOURS just for commenting on each of the DeNami Designs DT blogs. You can find the list below.  You can buy this set for one week only with a 10% savings. If you win on the blog hop, DeNami Design will refund you for your purchase, so it's a win win!

Here is what I have to share using the Pretty Paisley set!
I started with a white piece of cardstock to create a focal panel and I stamped the paisley images randomly rotating and altering my three inks. I added the Mini Swirl Flourish in as it complimented the design well.
I stamped the die-cut in a complimentary ink to give a watermark look. However not showing up in these pictures, but if you click on the photo to shade it, you can then see the design. (I have no idea why). Lastly I stamped the Elegant Oval Frame on white cardstock, colored the outline with copics and fussy cut to add to the center of the die.

I hope you comment before you go! You could be the proud new owner of this stamp set!!!

I am also joining in at Link Up Tuesday - Linky Party, Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party

I hope you have a wonderful day!

The Kraft Journal 139 - Color Challenge

For today's color challenge at The Kraft Journal, I found that using a piece of designer paper from my stash was a perfect jumping off point and added it to a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  Next I added a doily to the center to mat the main focal image. I die-cut a pumpkin and leaf from Wplus9 from Kraft Text Weight Paper which I stamped to coordinate.
At the top of the focal point, I tied a bow with brown and white baker's twine and embellished with an orange button.
I stamped the sentiment in the upper right top corner.

On the left side, two banners were cut from paper that coordinates with the main patterned paper used. I took a piece of patterned paper to cover a Chipboard Flag Piece to add to the top of the other two banner pieces.

Lastly, I added a variety of flowers in a cluster and a fall leaf to the lower left corner embellishing further with a brown satin bow and a sunflower.

Here is this week's Color Challenge photo.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your Color Challenge creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

DeNami Pin-spired #2 for September - Miss You

Hey ya'll!

I have a little creation for the DeNami Design Pin-spired DT Challenge.   I honestly design by mood and inspiration, so when this card was created I was on a CAS.  Not my normal go to style, but I am an eclectic card maker!

Here is my take:
Here is the inspiration photo:
I started by embossing my Peacock Feathers in Gold Ink onto a white cardstock panel. I used mineral spirits and chalk to fade in the color. Lastly I added a sentiment from the Assorted Greeting Set.  To add a pop of color I added a burgundy pink scallop doily to the top. (I got as close as I could to the color in the photograph, but I just didn't have the right shade of paper in my stash).

Be sure to check out a few of my teammates who have created something fabulous with this "Pin-spired" photo.
You won't want to miss their takes!

The Kraft Journal 138 Inspired by a Book or Song ...Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me!

{This is my second post of the day...please click here for my Paper Sweeties Halloween Card}

For today's Inspired by a Song or Book challenge over at The Kraft Journal,  I get the Disney's Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me song stuck in my head A LOT!!! So as you can see, my inspiration is a Pirate Birthday card!

I started with Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock onto which I added some patterned Treasure Map paper.  This is actually left over from favors I used for my son's birthday when he was real little. (My does time fly *sigh*) Next I created a banner with skull and cross bone paper I had in my stash that came in a kit...I love when I can finally use something I have had forever.....anywho....back to the card...I adhered to the center of the card face. I stamped, colored, and matted the pirate image (From The Angel Company and no longer is in business, boo, but I love using crafty stash) to the middle of the card to create a focal point.

Using Jenni Bowlin Chipboard Banner Pieces and coordinating Black Banner Stickers, I created a sentiment along the top to spell out ARG. I anchored the banner with Red Baker's Twine. I then cut out another banner to stamp the Happy Birthday from Paper Smooches out of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Card Stock and tucked underneath her treasure map image.

Whew....thanks for hanging in there with me....this was definitely an ADHD post....oh look there's a butterfly....

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your Inspired by a Book or Song creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have you had a chance to check out the new September release from Paper Sweeties?  The stamps hit the store yesterday! Today the Paper Sweeties Design Team is having a Post Release After Party sharing some new and previously  released stamps working together!

Today, I am showing Emma wearing Cute as a Bug with a sentiment from Occasions. This darling new outfit that was just released works well as a Halloween "costume" giving you more ways to use this set!
I used a Sweet Cut for Emma and colored her hair a light yellow. I then stamped and cut her darling Lady Bug Costume and dressed her up ready for trick-or-treating.

Using some masking, I stamped the sentiment from Occasions and added to two Memory Stick Pins. I spritzed some Glimmer Mist on a white doily and added behind the Halloween text print patterned paper. Final finishing touches include a fussy seam binding bow embellished with a black twine bow, flowers and a spider clothes pin from my stash.
I hope you will visit the rest of the Design Team to see what they have created today!

The Ribbon Reel - Pretty in Pink

Hi!

I am back with my second post of the day. Thanks for visiting me again. For my Paper Sweeties Release Day post, scroll down one.

It's time for another challenge at The Ribbon Reel. Keilly is our host and she ask that we create a card/project using the colours in the inspiration photo plus FLOWERS & RIBBON.
I started with a Buff Ivory card base onto which I added some pink on pink stripe paper.  Using a border punch, I created an elegant trim in green patterned paper to give a border to the pink marbleized patterned paper.  I added a banner at the top embellishing with beautiful pink flowers and  hung by some beautiful May Arts 3mm Ivory Velvet Ribbon

I created a frame pulling inspiration from the photo below adding a die-cut 7 for a special birthday girl! The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.

Please be sure to make a stop over at The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog to view the rest of the gorgeous creations by the design team.  I hope to see your creations in the gallery the next two weeks.  You could be the next winner of The Ribbon Reel shopping spree!

It's Time To celebrate - A Dreaded Man Card

Hi there!

First I have to say Happy Birthday to my dear husband. Not that he reads the blog, but I thought I would mentioned it anyway!  No, this card is not for him. He is receiving another DMC (Dreaded Man Card). :-)

My card stash is mostly full of pretty pink girly cards, and I have nothing for guys! I refuse to buy a card when I can make one, so I need to stock up! So as my post title states I have a Masculine card today. I have dubbed my masculine collection on the ol' blog as Dreaded Man Cards. (DMC). I love who I make them for, but dread not making them fussy, so I struggle.

Here we go!
I started with a Kraft card base. I added some "not so girly" papers from my stash to the card front. On a tag I stamped the cuckoo clock image from Hero Arts - Cuckoo. I also used Versamark ink to add clocks to the background of the tag.  The sentiment is from the same set.
I embellished with some buttons from Craftpon Etsy shop (Items 10000188 and 10000148

That's it short and sweet and hopefully will make one of the men in my life happy! :-)))

I am joining in at:  Papercraft Star- Inspiration (clocks)
The Shabby Tea Room - Inspiration Clocks
Paper Playtime - 3 Papers, 3 Girl Jam - Celebrations, A Blog Name Hero - Button It

I hope you have a blessed day!
