Happy Birthday 6 {The Kraft Journal}

Good Monday to you!

{Sale Alert at Bottom of POST}

Hard to believe November is almost over. Tomorrow we move into the last month of the year. Wow!  The holidays are moving in on me like a freight train. My plan is to stay nice and laid back this year. No big plans. I will be missing my family tremendously.

This week we have a color challenge at The Kraft Journal. I do hope you join us!

I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock. I took some green graph designer paper and added it to the bottom of the card adding a trim of Orange Baker's Twine. In the upper left corner I die-cut a circle (Spellbinders) and trimmed the edges. I die-cut and layered a 6 (PTI) using Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock and solid green designer paper. I formed a tiny double bow using more Orange Baker's Twine adding it to the bottom of the number.  Using my Cricut, I cut out a lion using the Create a Critter 2 Cartridge followed by paper piecing him, and embellished his party hat with some glitter before mounting with foam adhesive.
I stamped "Happy Birthday" (Paper Smooches) on orange cardstock that I cut into a banner adding to the lower left of the card. Last I added a few orange and green sequins for further embellishing.

Here are the colors to use this week!
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Color Inspiration creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Trendy Twine - Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey Day Friends!

I hope you have a day that is blessed with family and friends as you reflect on what you have to be thankful for.

Now on to my silly card. A few of the Design Team gals at Trendy Twine are doing a group post today.

I say silly card because I created a Pilgrim squirrel with googly eyes and a button nose!
I started with my favorite Brown Kraft Coverweight cardstock for the base. I layered some various patterned papers that were on my desk from previous makes. I added four brads to the corners. Talk about dusting off those old supplies.:)

I took a length of Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the brown gingham patterned paper several times and tied in a triple bow embellishing with a brown button and a stamped tag using APB- Hello Fall Planner Stamps.

I used my Cricut and the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut this adorable squirrel.  I couldn't resist giving him some funny googly eyes and a button nose.

Basketball - Thanks

Hello friends,

I am sure most of you are starting to get busy with your Thanksgiving preparations.

Today, I have a quick CAS card to share with you. Yes, this girl made a CAS card that took me under 15 minutes to make (and part of that was travel time to the basement where my Cameo is housed).

My son recently had a birthday, and on his actual birthday he and a buddy went to a Washington Wizards basketball game. These two played basketball together last year, so naturally, he wanted me to make his friend a basketball card to thank him for going with him and for the gift he received.

I started with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight cardstock base which is not visually seen from the front. I covered the Kraft base with patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket that I have had FOREVER! Digging into my leftover scraps, I found a piece of solid green cardstock (pulling the green from the patterned paper) and added to the center. I die-cut the word thanks in black from a My Creative Time set.

Next, my trip to the basement to cut the basketball out using my Cameo. I have a very thin left over piece of Orange Cardstock and I added that to give a border on the green cardstock (want not waste not). I added the basketball to the center adding the sentiment just below to complete this very simple card.

Hopefully his friend will like it and remember their special time to their first NBA game.  Here is a picture of the boys and their basketball coach watching the game intently.

I am sharing at Amusing Challenge - Thanks.

A little humor before I sign off.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Ho Ho Ho - Merry Christmas

Hello!

I am just not ready to think about Christmas yet...I have Turkey on the brain this week, but our challenge at The Kraft Journal is CAS - Christmas.

I started with an A2 card base of Brown Kraft Coverweight Cardstock. Next plaid patterned paper was cut as a mat and a length of Merry Christmas satin ribbon was added before adhering the mat to the card base.

I used the Create A Critter 2 cartridge to cut the words Ho Ho Ho where I adhered them to the left side of the card front.

I used Buff Ivory Cardstock and Light Kraft Cardstock along with brown and red cardstock from my scrap box, to die-cut and paper piece a reindeer which is also from the Create A Critter 2 cartridge. Before adhering with foam adhesive, I tied a small bow from Red Baker's Twine around the deer's neck to finish my Christmas card. I had to sit on my hands to keep from adding buttons or sequins. :)

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your CAS - Christmas creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet Store.

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday Lesley!

Today we are celebrating Lesley's birthday (Owner of Annie's Paper Boutique and home of Trendy Twine) The Trendy Twine Design Team gals got together and made special birthday projects for her.
Happy Birthday Lesley!

Since Lesley has a fall birthday, I created a fall inspired birthday card for her! I used a Kraft card base and papers from Provocraft. The stamped pumpkin and Leaf are from APB Hello Fall Planner Stamp Set.
As for the sentiment I used, it can be found at DeNami Design. I took a length of fabulous Orange Truffle Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the card front tying in a double bow embellishing with a button.  At the top of the pumpkin, I created a fussy bow embellishing further with a fall button, more awesome Orange Truffle Trendy Twine and a stamped tag as mentioned with one of those cute stamps from Hello Fall.
Here are the wonderful products from Annie's Paper Boutique I used today!

For You, Teacher {Tag}

Good Day!

This week at The Kraft Journal, the challenge is "Anything Goes-Tags". Most are probably getting a jump start on those Christmas Tags, but I decided to go in a different direction, and make a Teacher Tag. I never have enough of these, and I am usually scrambling when I send something in to one of my son's teachers.
I used The Kraft Outlet's Large Kraft Shipping Tag to start and leftover school themed papers to decorate. I added a length of Black Baker's Twine to trim the top of where the designer paper ended. I stamped a sentiment to the left, added a die-cut pencil and apple and a few sequins to give it a bit of glitz. Lastly, I took several length of Black and Red Baker's Twine to the top to make it easy to tie on a package.

Trendy Twine -Thanksgiving Nugget Treats

Hey!

It's my turn to post some goodies on the Trendy Twine Blog. I am featuring some Thanksgiving Nugget Treats featuring APB - Hello Fall Planner Stamp Set and Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.
I created the box using my Cameo and a file from the Silhouette Store - I decorated the box before assembling using the APB - Hello Fall Planner Stamp Set.  I did this for 8 boxes.

I stamped the fall inspired greetings along the side and end of the box, and did the same on the bottom incorporating the images from the set.

After assembling the holder and adding patterned paper to the nuggets, I created a tag to add to the treat which I used Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine to tie it together embellishing with a little jingle bell.
How cute are these stamps?  Stop by the Boutique and grab these goodies to make your own treats!
I used these products from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Happy 10th Birthday!

 Hi!

Today, is my favorite guys golden or magical birthday. 10 on the 10th! Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday I was getting up for those midnight feedings and now he is double digits.

My slugger loves baseball, so I made him a shaker card where I added a few die-cut baseballs to mix in with the sequins. I have to admit that I never can photograph shaker cards well. To me, they are always cuter in person then can be captured in a photograph.
Baseball is America's Pastime, and I can't help, but go Patriotic. I used the Take Me Out To the Ballgame ribbon on his card last year, and I will continue to do so till it's all gone...why...because he picked it out last year, and asked if I ever make him a card could I please use "this" ribbon.

Hello Fall {The Kraft Journal}

Hello Friends!

How are you doing on this fine Fall day?

For this week's Take Your Pick Challenge at The Kraft Journal, I chose: Turkey, Stamped, Top Fold, Seam Binding, Doily, and Orange.

I began the card with a base of Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock onto which I adhered the pieced fall pattern papers. I placed a White Doily, now carried at The Kraft Outlet to the middle of the card front.
Using Light Kraft Cover Weight cardstock,  a stitched rectangle die was created for the main focal panel. I stamped and paper pieced the turkey and pumpkin to the center adding a stamped sentiment. Lastly, I created a fussy bow from Hand Stained Bias Tape (Seam Binding) which I embellished with a fall leaf button tucking in some Prima fall leaves under the ribbon treatment for added embellishment.

Here is the Take Your Pick graphic.
Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Take Your Pick creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Trendy Twine - 2 x 2 Thanksgiving Gift Packaging

Hello!

It's my day to post over on the Trendy Twine Blog today, and I am featuring Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and the 2x2x2 Kraft Boxes. They come 10 to a pack.  They are easy to assemble, and perfect for so many uses. How cute would these be as 3 dimensional place cards? You could put candy in them, or a small gift. I am going to use mine as a gift box.

I trimmed the front of the box with Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine trying off in a double bow. I decorated the front with a cute stamped Turkey image.

I added some patterned paper lined with a complimentary scallop square to the top. I stamped Thankful for you in the center.

I added Natural Jute Ribbon to the back and sides of the box. I took Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and embellished the jute ribbon adding a few buttons laced with more Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Blessings

Good Monday All!

This week the challenge at The Kraft Journal is "Blessings". I had a sentiment from WPlus9 Stamps that was used as my starting point for my card this week.

I started with a card base of Buff Ivory Cardstock onto which I layered a brown piece of patterned paper where next I added layers of fall inspired patterned papers to complete the foundation.

I took a length of Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a bow which I embellished with a fall leaf button. Using Buff Ivory Cardstock, I made four different die-cuts, one for the sentiment, one the postage square, then the pumpkin, and leaf. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo.

Before assembling, I took Brown Kraft Baker's Twine and added to the postage square tying off in a double bow. My last bit of embellishing was adding a paper rose to the center of the pumpkin.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Blessings creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.
