10 Minute Craft Dash - Dropping You a Note

Hello Friends!

I am sharing a card I made very quickly for the 10 Minute Craft Dash which is sponsored by DeNami Design Stamps.  The DeNami Design Team was invited to play along.

Here is what I have....

That started with this.....
I had a card concept in my head, but it turned out totally different when I tried to get my layout to fit. I didn't have time to re-cut the die pieces, but I like how it turned out...I almost didn't make it. I totally broke a sweat and thought for sure this was going to be a fail! I am so glad you can pull your supplies first. Otherwise, I would never make it.

I started with a pink card base onto which I added my white panel.  I cut three different hexagons. Next I ran the cuts through again using the size down to cut the centers out of each.  I played around with my layout for the hexagons until I got them how I liked. I then stamped my sentiment in the lower left corner.  Next I stamped the mini butterfly in my pink, yellow, and gray ink. Finally I added three small solid hexagons to the left side of the card front above my sentiment.

Final time to completion: 9:59.5

Here is the color graphic! :-)

Be sure to check out the details at the 10 Minute Craft Dash

You're Swell...

Hi there!

It's that time of year when Father's Day and Birthday's sneak up on me...so having said that I had to get cranking and slowly cranking it is...I am finding it hard to sneak crafty time right now.

Most of you know I tend to create more shabby layer upon layer cards..., but truly, I am an eclectic crafter...I craft by mood, and today I was in a fun and cute kind of mood. I did jump start my mojo with the current Paper Smooches Designer Draft Challenge, however my creativity got going with the scene, so I took some creative liberty with the sketch if you will! :-) The bones are still there!:-)
Here is what I have to share!
The entirety of my card with created using items from my scrap pile. Sadly, I never make a dent in "said" scrap pile.  I started with a yellow card base (not even sure of the color name/brand as it was in the stash), and I added my striped patterned paper. (DCWV). I added some fun glitter ribbon to the top.  Next I created my scene on a piece of white cardstock.
I used Paper Smooches Surf and Turf...I had to use the Pelican because it reminds me of my home state of Florida. I miss home tons. Besides the obvious of missing my family, I am a coastal gal at heart! :-) I then added Mr. Crab holding the fun sentiment "You're Swell!
I die-cut the clouds and added a touch of white paint to them. Being a girl who loves buttons, I added a row at the bottom...all of which have been laced with twine.

I hope you enjoyed my fun little share. I am joining in at: Paper Smooches Sparks. I added my pelican and cloud to the left side verses the right, and well, I needed another cloud and my sweet crab in there. :-)

The Ribbon Reel #55 - Happy Birthday

Hi!

{This is my second post of the day, if you are looking for the DeNami Designs Patterned Paper Blog Hop click here)

Hard to believe it's time for another challenge at The Ribbon Reel already! Zuzana is our host and she has asked that we create a card with pearls, plus ribbon, lace and twine. The Pearls can be adhesive, brads, pins...whatever your heart desires as long as you show us your treasured pearls.

Here is what I created today.
The Supplies from The Ribbon Reel used:
I started with a white card base next adding my white lattice rectangle cut.  I added some patterned paper from Pink Paislee Bayberry cottage collection to the center. I stamped DeNami Designs Decorative Crest Circle with Peeled Paint distress ink onto my green cardstock. I added three beautiful rose buds to the center embellishing with some pearls from my stash. I die-cut a fancy flourish adding to the top of my Decorative Crest.

I tied a double Mauve Mesh bow which I further embellished with an Ivory Button Twine double bow, vintage pearl button and a sentiment tag stamped using DeNami Designs Thoughtful Greeting Set. I just love how perfect these little sentiments are for tags. :-) A final finishing touch was adding some crochet trim across the top.

Here is the new inspiration photo to kick start your mojo.
Please head over to The Ribbon Reel Challenge Blog to see what the other talented ladies have created for you.  We hope you join us in the gallery over the next two weeks for your chance to win some Ribbon Reel goodness.

Have a good evening!

Paper Sweeties June Post Release and Rewind

Hey there!

Yesterday was the Paper Sweeties June Release and today I have one more share using a new and previously released stamp. I hope you have had a chance to check them out and added a few to your shopping cart.

My share today is rather CAS with touches of embossing. I just wish wish wish I could photograph white cards well. I used Faith, Hope, and Love and the sentiment from Spring is Here.

To keep with the wedding theme, I wanted to make a card that would be perfect for a Bridal Shower.  It has a simple elegance to it.
As you can see, I embossed the lower portion of the dress adding color to the sash and flowers. I added a length of blue ribbon and tied in a bow adding a simple white rose to the center.
Please be sure to stop by the Paper Sweeties Blog and the rest of this talented team to see one more Paper Sweeties creation!

I hope you have enjoyed looking at the new creations for Paper Sweeties the last few days! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day that is showered with love!

Paper Sweeties June Release Party

Hi!

It's Day 3 of the June Paper Sweeties release and that also means all those fabulous sets you have been getting sneak peeks at are available in the Paper Sweeties Store! Today I am sharing the  LOVE set! This is a "builder" set where you can create your own stamps and postmarks. But there are other possibilities as well as with any stamp set.

Inspiration for my card started with this vintage image I had in my stash. It sure was an awesome jumping point to build my colors and design. I just love the vintage/distressed images of the stamps.

Don't forget that today is the day to get your hot little hands on some new Paper Sweeties goodness! Please head over to the Paper Sweeties Blog and the rest of the Design Team to see what they have whipped up for the release.
We will be back tomorrow with one more creation where we will be mixing some previously released sets with the new, so I hope to see you back here!

Paper Sweeties June Release Day 2

Hi there and welcome to Day 2 of the Paper Sweeties June release! The Design Team will continue on with featuring cards over the next few days to give you a sneak peek at what will be released on the 4th!!!

Here is what I have for you showcasing Best Wishes.
I stamped the "Many Thanks" sentiment inside the beautiful stamped frame. I used an oval nestie to cut the sentiment out layering on a coordinating scallop die-cut of brown cardstock.
I added my beautiful damask paper to the card base adding part of a doily to the left side. I took a length of Vintage Seam Binding and wrapped it around the left side of the card front and tied in a fussy bow embellished further with a twine bow and flower.
I added my sentiment panel and some pearls for an elegant touch.

You will want to check out the rest of the Paper Sweeties Design Team to see what they have created with the new release.  You can also find the list here to visit their blogs and leave them some love.

Paper Sweeties June Release Day 1

Hi folks,

I have two cards to share with you for the Paper Sweeties June Release. We are doing things differently this month and having the release a little early since the summer tends to have a lot of wedding scheduled and with that comes summer anniversaries. Paper Sweeties is releasing 5 new sets and they will be available for purchase June 4th!

Okay enough chit chat let's get to it!

I started with a Navy Blue card base onto which I added my layers of yellow and chevron gray patterned paper.
I stamped the Bride and Groom Silhouette using Wedding Day in black ink onto my frilly oval die-cut which I placed in the center of my card. I added a silky gray bow embellished with a Navy Blue button.

I created a fluffy flower from yellow tissue paper and placed that in the lower left corner. To complete the card, I stamped the Best Wishes sentiment on a petite banner in navy blue ink.

For my second card, I created an Anniversary Card using Live Laugh Love.
I actually gave this to my husband for our 18th wedding anniversary! Frilly and all! He expects nothing less from me! :-) Ha!

I started with a black card base adding my black and white Damask patterned paper. I wrapped a length of seam binding around the card face and tied in a fussy bow embellished with a button. I stamped my image from Live, Laugh, Love on a label die offsetting it to the left to leave room for the Happy Anniversary sentiment.  I finished off this delightful card with some various blooms in my stash as well as adding pearls and a rhinestone just below the sentiment.
Please be sure to head over to the Paper Sweeties Blog to see what the other talented ladies have created for the upcoming release! You can also find a complete list below, so be sure to leave them some love.

I am joining in at Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes, 3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes with Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  See you tomorrow for Day Two of the peeks!

Festive Friday Merry Christmas...

Hi all!

{This is my second post of the day, for my DeNami Designs Tutorial post click here.}

It's one day before June, and I am bringing to the ol blog my first Christmas Card of the year. Many of you have had a jump start on this, and I am late to the game. I would still be in good shape by December if I could keep up the rest of the year, but I am pretty sure that is not going to happen! :-) It's also hard to get in the Holiday mood when it's in the 90's. One week ago, I had to grab my winter coat, and now we have hit the hot and humid climate of summer! (I guess we skipped spring) Oh Mother Nature! :-)

Here is my Festive Christmas card to share!

I started with a Kraft Cover Weight base onto which I added my patterned papers from Authentique's Festive line. I took part of a doily and added to the bottom half of where the papers divide followed by adding a length of May Art's shear gold trim to the center.

In gold, I stamped and embossed my Ornament from Waltzingmouse stamps onto red cardstock and then die-cut it with the coordinating Spellbinder die. I stamped Merry Christmas onto green cardstock in gold ink and heat embossed and added to my ornament after I hand-cut into a banner.

A bow was tied from cream grosgrain ribbon trimming the ends with pinking shears. I die-cut some Holly Leaves which I scored down the centers for dimension adding to the center of the bow finishing off with a button and twine. Finishing touches include, crochet trim, a German Glass Glitter Star embellished with button and twine and pearls.

Inspiration for this card was found at:
Festive Fridays- Color Challenge
3 Girl Jam - Anything Goes With Ribbon
Sunday {Fun}day - Linky Party
Craftin Desert Diva's - Anything Goes with Ribbon and Twine.
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Happy Stamping!
