Celebrate Your Day!

Hi!

{Yay, This was selected as Honorable Cup of Tea at The Shabby Tea Room 3/4/13}

Hope you are having a Terrific Thursday!

Since I am closing out my Birthday Celebration Giveaway, I thought it only fitting to end with a celebratory card don't you???? You have until midnight tonight EST to enter!

Here is what I have to share today!

I started this card with piecing together the pink stripped, pistachio green, and marbleized pink patterned paper onto my cream card base.   I added a length of crochet trim to the top above my cream pennants. A few pearls and a pale pink paper rose was added for an embellishing touch.

In Tuxedo Black Ink, I stamped Celebrate Your Day from Paper Sweeties So Sweet of You sentiment set onto an oval frame.

Inspiration for my card was found at The Shabby Tea Room - Pink Party.

I am also joining in at DL. Art - Thankful Thursday Linky Party

I am sad that the celebration is coming to an end, but two lucky commenters will get to continue the party on with their shopping spree! Click here for the details to enter my celebration giveaway! The Kraft Journal - Vintage Dictionary Egg Topiary Tree Tutorial

Hello!

(This is my second post...for my DeNami Designs Product Spotlight Blog Hop Post You can click here.)

It's my turn to do a tutorial for The Kraft Journal, and I thought I would share an Easter Home Decor Project I worked on.

I was motivated by a very large bag of plastic Easter Eggs that I have moved around in the bottom of a closet for several years now. It keeps multiplying each year with every egg hunt my son attends. So I guess you can say this is an upcycle project as well! :-) I love to make Home Decor Projects and I love it even better when I can repurpose something! I am sure you may have these stuck in a closet somewhere too.

Let's Gather Some Supplies!
The items from The Kraft Outlet
Plastic Easter Eggs
Foam Topiary Tree
Hot Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Royal Coat / Modge Podge Decoupage Finish
Paint Brush or a Foam Brush
Embellishments for your eggs
      (I used)
  • Felt
  • Buttons
  • Paper Flowers
  • Patterned Paper
  • Lace Trim
Moss
Pot for tree

I am going to first apologize that I didn't have someone to help with pictures.

Here is a picture of some of the supplies needed to get started.
* Prior to starting, cut your Vintage Dictionary Pages into strips at various lengths tearing some of the edges.

With a brush, dab on the Decoupage Finish
Start working your Vintage Dictionary Pages into different directions smoothing down with your fingers and adding more Decoupage Finish on top as you go. Just channel your inner pre-school self! :-) This is not a project for those who don't like to get messy!!! Trust me the end result is worth it!!!
Repeat the process till you cover the amount of eggs needed!

Your Vintage Dictionary Page wrapped eggs! Waiting to be embellished!
Now the fun begins, but I used several items to embellish my eggs.  My biggest go to item was the Natural Hemp Cord which I used to make my bows and is so easy to curl.  I created a heart border from Lunch Bag Kraft Cardstock.  I used Canvas Fringe Ribbon as trim and Burlap to die-cut hearts.  All items were adhered to the eggs using a hot glue gun.
Waiting to go onto the tree! :-)
Next, I chose to paint my stem of the topiary!
Using your hot glue gun, apply glue to the back of the egg and add to your tree and hold in place for about a minute.
After all of your eggs have been applied, it's time to add some
moss as filler between your eggs. I also did this by using my hot glue gun.
I chose to use different variations of moss for visual interest.
And The finished, Up-cycled Vintage Topiary Egg Tree!
A close-Up!
I hope you will stop by The Kraft Outlet and pick up some supplies to make your own Vintage Topiary Tree!

I am joining in at Sunday{Fun}day #6 - Linky Party
Shabby Creek Cottage - Transformation Thursday

Let me know what you think! I sure did reduce that bag of eggs!

Papertrey Ink - Blog Hop Marvelous Monograms

Hi!

It's been almost two years I think since I have participated in a PTI Blog Hop! I am a little late to the party today, but none the less I am getting my card posted!

I have had a request for some personal stationery, so I thought this might be a good trial. It needs to be flat for mailing, and easy enough that I can mass produce the design.

Here is what I have today:

I started with a white card base onto which I stamped the flowers from Natural Beauties in various inks in hues of blues, reds, and oranges giving me a two tone look. The Limitless Layers was used as the focal point for Papertrey Ink's Ambassador Monogram Edition which was mounted on the Matstack 4 die-cut.

That's it for me! Short and sweet today! Enjoy the rest of the hop!

Making my stash work for me!

Hello~

I have a little card for you today! I totally shopped the deeps of the stash on all this. I continue to try reduce, reduce reduce reduce. Sure doesn't seem to be going anywhere. *wink*
I started with a Kraft Brown cover weight cardstock onto which I added my textured patterned paper joined with my white embossed Whisper White cardstock.  Where the pieces joined I added some beautiful lace trim that was in my stash that I picked up at an Etsy store, but is now closed. I wrapped a beautiful length of aqua gross-grain ribbon around the card front and tied in a bow and embellished with a red button, pearl, twine, and a tag with a Hello greeting stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
A die-cut embellie by K & Company was added to the right of the card. I have a stack of these waiting to find a home! :-) Finishing touches include adding some beautiful flowers to the lower corner and pretty pearls scattered about!

Inspiration for this card was found at the following:
Papercraft Star - Make a "Hello" card.

My Craft Spot - Flowers
Shopping our Stash - Use Old Paper
Crafty Steals Blog - Use Your Spring Stash - Flowers (K Company Die-Cut and flowers on card)

Thanks for looking!

Pin-spired With DeNami Designs

Hi Sweeties!

It's our second "Pin-spired" over at DeNami Designs Blog! Several of my DeNami Teamies today will be sharing their take on the inspirational photo! They can be inspired to create a project by the photo, the colors, the theme, the object shown, the layout of the photograph! The possibilities are endless and it will be fun to see how each design team member interprets their take and what they took away from it in their creation.

Here is my creation:
and here is the inspiration photo:
As you can see, I was inspired by several of the elements in the photo, from the  colors, the shapes the layout! This was so fun!

I started with a white on white card base. The panel has had the various shapes strung with white sewing thread. The Thinking of You sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment and go to sets which is the All Occasion Sentiment Stamp Set.

It sure was fun to create! Be sure to check out a few of my teammates who have created something fabulous with this "Pin-spired" photo.
You won't want to miss their takes! Their creativity is amazing and always inspiring!

So Sweet of You

Good Tuesday Morning!

{Woo Hoo Honorable Cup Of Tea at The Shabby Tea Room on 2/25/13}
I started with an Aqua Mist card base onto which my ink embossed panel using the letterpress technique was added. A punched border also in Aqua Mist was layered over a small panel of patterned paper adding to the lower right of the card front.
In Vintage Sepia Ink, I stamped So Sweet of You from Paper Sweeties onto a whisper white label die-cut. I added three silver punched hearts to the sentiment panel inking the edges slightly with some aqua ink.  To complete the finishing touches of this card, I added some crochet trim and a length of brown seam binding which was finished off in a fussy bow adding a silver German Glass Glitter star to the center.

I found inspiration for this thank you note from the current challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.
Use Aqua and Brown and add a Silver Element.

Edit to note: I am adding this to Shopping our Stash: Use Old Paper - I saw Jessi's post and realized that the paper on the lower right is pretty darn old. So Old I am not sure when or how I got it, but I know I was living in Hawaii and it moved with me here. I am pretty sure I still have about three sheets of it. It multiplies! I was on a brown and aqua cardmaking kick for awhile.

Well, that's it for my crafty break. I hope you have a Terrific Tuesday!

The Kraft Jounral - White On Kraft

(For The Ribbon Reel New Challenge Post/Card click here)
(For The Waltzingmouse Blog Party click here)

It's Monday, so it's another challenge at The Kraft Journal.  For today's "White on Kraft" challenge, I, created a card where I used the letterpress technique to impress white ink onto the Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock.   Next I stamped a white rose onto Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder and my heat tool to really make the flower pop off the kraft.  I added a little butterfly made of  Lunch Bag Kraft cardstock  to the flower adding a sweet tiny pearl to the center.

I wrapped a length of of White Twill Tying Tape around the card front and tied in a bow further embellishing with a triple Black Baker's Twine bow, fancy white button and pearl.  The sentiment was stamped in Kraft ink onto white cardstock adding some lace trim and pearls to the bottom.  A final finishing touch includes a paper heart border added to the top.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other gals.  We hope to see your White on Kraft Project in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!

Waltzingmouse Blog Party - February

{I am beyond tickled, thrilled, honored, YOU NAME IT to have my card mentioned as a Trigger Target on the Moxie Fab Blog today! Thank you so much! I am beyond excited! AND AND AND I I just read that it caught the eye of the designers for the Waltzingmouse Blog Party! Wow! Thank You Again I am Humbled!}

Hi all! I am joining in for my first ever Waltzingmouse Blog Party! I can never seem to get my act together or I am just going in a 100 different directions, but for someone who totally and I mean totally adores this stamp brand it's about time I joined the party! I sure hope you can join too! You can get the details here.

The theme this month is to use doilies. Well if you visit me often then you know I am no stranger to using them on my projects, so I am going to ride this trend as long as I can because I LOVE using them!

Here is my Doily card!

On a cream card base I layered a beautiful patterned paper by Graphic 45. A portion of a doily was added to the right side of my card front adding a frame from Vintage Labels 10.  A few layered die-cut circles were added to the center of the label onto which the beautiful Prima Rose bloom has been added!  I created a fussy seam binding bow to top of the label further embellishing with more beautiful paper blooms.  To compliment the doily theme, a lace chain border was added to the top portion of the card.
I used Thanks from Say it Loud adding a doily peeking out below the sentiment banner. One last final finishing touch is adding a beautiful pearl button tied with a double twine bow.

That's it for me today, I hope you are inspired to play along with the WMS Blog Party!

Paper Sweeties February Release Wrap Up

Hello!  Well, it's day 4 and the wrap up to this fabulous new release from Paper Sweeties! The stamps are in the store and I hope you have loads of fun shopping!
I created a 5 x 5 card for my final project. I started with a Whisper White Cardstock base onto which I pieced together some pink patterned papers. I totally heart pink, turquoise, aqua and blues, so I tend to gravitate to them A LOT!

Using a large scalloped circle die I used that to mat the darling Tea Kettle Image stamped in Hollyhock Ink by CTMH which was a gift in a prize pack I won.
A length of white crochet trim was added to the top. Other embellishing touches include adding flowers and paper butterflies glammed with pearls to complete this card for a special friend!

Well, I am so happy you stopped by!
Don't forget about our February Sketch Challenge which runs until the 28th! You will want to enter to win TWO FREE stamp sets from the Paper Sweeties Shoppe:
